It’s no secret that academia has a publicity problem. By that I don’t mean that academics are caught in highway hit & runs or hotel lobby dust ups. But academia – both organisations and individuals – sometimes has a hard time relaying their activities to the public to create a greater understanding.

In 1992, the Netter Centre for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania was created to connect knowledge to the inter-connected challenges confronting the University of Pennsylvania, the city of Philadelphia, and American society. In 2006, the Eidos Institute was established to connect the complex research of the Eidos Network of member universities to Australian politics and policy.
